Highlighting Studio Designer Features:

STUDIO PAY

If you are not yet using the Studio Pay feature, I want to encourage you to enable this feature and allow your clients to pay through Studio Designer. This function allows for almost seamless entry of your client payments as well as for easy pass through and posting of the processing fees.

If you are already using Studio Pay, be sure that you are entering your client payments by selecting “payment posting” from the accounting menu instead of “money in”. All settled payments will show up on the left hand side of the payment posting page, with a green “captured” button.

When you click on one of the captured payments, the transaction will expand and allow you to apply it directly to the intended proposal or invoice with a couple quick clicks.

You do not have to go to Money In to enter these payments.

DESIGN TOOLS

If you have not already watched the demo for Design Tools, make some time to watch the training.

This new feature allows you to build an inspiration library using the Studio Capture feature. This library can be searched using various different parameters such as item type, vendor or project name. Items in the library can easily be turned into items on a proposal. There is also an integration with PowerPoint to create presentation materials, as well as compatibility with Canva, Google Slides and InDesign.

ATTACHMENTS

You should be attaching vendor documentation on your items – receipts, order confirmations, sales acknowledgements, and final invoices can be attached to your items for easy retrieval. Once you are in this habit, all of your information is readily available at your fingertips, not to mention, accessible to other team members. No more scouring through email to find a receipt.

In addition, you can attach vendor W9’s in their address record, as well as client documents such as scope of work lists, excel spreadsheets or other general project info into client address record.

COLOR BUTTONS

(ALSO KNOWN AS STATUS OR PRIORITIES)

If you are not already using the color buttons to manage your item status, you are missing a powerful tool. The colors can be assigned with whatever meaning works for you. If you are working with other team members, using the colors is a quick and easy way to communicate what steps need to happen next. Some common status names are:  To order, ordered, delivered, pending, problems, completed. Set the name of each color using the “priorities” setting.

As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need any help.
